Hi peeps, It's been a long time...how r things back home? How's Eugene, Max and the rest of the gang doing? With Jireh in Aussie, are the gang still going strong? Right now I am in Japan and will probably be here for a while as I have no intentions of going back to SG in the near future. After spending the last 2hrs thinking about it, i've decided that there really is no two ways about this...we have to visit this Ministry of Dessert place at Marina Square.

they specialise in japanese dessert, and apparently, their ice-cream is made using only the freshest milk from the friendliest cows over in Hokkaido.

as equally friendly ppl, i think we sunnysaturdayers shouldn't let these friendly Hokkaido cows down...so what say we drop by MoD this coming Sat? :)

Today is Max's Thanksgiving Day.

This is the day where Max shows his appreciation to all his Wonderful Friends by giving them a free Polar-Bear hug each.

For your free hug, just find the tallest and the most handsome guy (or anyone who looks like Brad Pitt) in the vicinity and get your free Polar-Bear hug.
If he gives you a strange look, just tell him that you're Max's Wonderful Friend. He'll understand.

Anyway, free Polar-Bear hugs aside, this Saturday, Sentosa is gonna be OURS AGAIN! Let us rally up our boardshorts and sunscreen and plant our white asses back on the smelly sand of Palawan Beach, where we belong! And hope all the revamping hasn't taken our SunnySat tree away!

Of course you're gonna ask, 'are you kidding? sunnysat in Jan? what if the weather doesn't hold up?'

In response to that, first, you deserve a one-time-big-big Sennen kuroshi for being so pessimistic. SunnySaturday-ers should always be looking on the bright side of life. Shame on you.

and secondly, YES, there is a beta plan just in case Max can't resist 'making clouds' on Friday night. But that plan shall be kept as a suuuurprise! :)

yes! YES! Saturday shall see us take the little island of Sentosa by hurricane again! All are free to join us in this rampage, but for the uninitiated, please bring along an ISO-certified gas mask and full body armour; things can get really rough sometimes..

For now, we have 6 confirmed weewees for this Sat: YC, Lav, Jwen, Peng, Eug and of course, myself.

Exclusive In-House Party Planning (Phrase II)

Hey hey hey! Looks like we've got ourselves a mad party coming up! We've manage to get some of the details firmed and now I'll like to share the ideas with all of you.

Basically... YC's PLACE IS CONFIRMED TO BE OUR CRASHING VENUE !!! Details on how to get there will be sent to those who are unsure via our email invitation card. But that will be ready maybe sometime next week I guess.

The next important detail is that it gonna be a Christmasy Theme. So any form of Xmas costume/outfit/saintarina sexy dress are welcomed. And since we are celebrating Xmas early, we might as well have some gift exchange! I know most of us are on tight budgets because of school, NS and suffering from the Pok Kai syndrome, we'll have a small gift exchange of around $4-$5 per gift. Anything goes! Just remember to wrap it okay? Don't be so cheap..

It has just been brought to my attention that our coming party ('coming' as in the approaching date) actually has a real reason for celebration. My friends.... ITS SUNNY SAT's 1ST YEAR ANNIVERSARY !!!!!! Our official date is the 11 of Dec but I think its never too late to celebrate it anyway. So people, ever the more reason to get your asses down. I'll go discuss with my party planners and we'll come up with both theme and dresscodes soon. The food and drinks will also be listed out for your convenience so that we won't have everyone bringing the same stuff. Here is the Guest list so far.

Ladies and Gents (and I don't mean the public toilets). Due to popular demand from our fellow BBB and Sunny Saturdayers, its about time I oiled the gears and get some planning into motion again. I DEMAND response and those who do not come will be banned from Sunny Sat. Okay I'm kidding. But I'll love to have the full attendance since its been awhile since we've all hung out and have mad fun together.

As the title suggest, its gonna be a liqour party and its gonna be In-house. In layman terms, its gonna be a alcoholic frenzy under a controlled environment. So girls, don't be afraid to go mad over the drinks cos I'm counting on our dear Mr Eugene to make an execption to stay over night with us and be Constable Chai.

I had YC's place in mind for the venue (if he doesn't mind of cos) because I think his living room would make a fine place for us all to chill out, play drinking games and watch max hang from the ceiling. I will confirm the venue again.

As for the date, since our monkey is going to terrorize the rising sun, and our Ms Shelly's cats will be away, I'll temporary set the date as 16th of Dec.

As for the liqour, of cos we can't just survive on liqour alone for the whole nite. But just to settle things nicely, I'll bring my bottles of vodka, chivas and bailey's. If Hongda is generous, maybe he can bring some of his poisons as well? And I believe YC has some stash at his place too. As for the rest, just bring finger foods and some tibits. You can buy or make yourself, it don't matter to me. Just don't make the place messy for YC (cos we're gonna have the honors to do so later in the nite).

What's going on with my life

Life goes on apparently. ORD-ed on 30th Sept. Went to Essential Brew to get a part time job. Got busy. Applied for RMIT in aussie. Prayed everyday as I worked. Tried to arrange for more japanese outings. Became best friends with the japs. Got my aussie uni acceptance letter. Feeling abit out of place at work. Might be ending sooner then planned. Gonna pack and leave town in early feb. Gonna miss a whole lot of peeps. Gonna hope everything rides well from then on. End.

It is true tat everyone is busy wif our own stuffs... especially the pioneers... Eug / Hd / Me .. we are all busy we our Final Sem examination... we all miss the time we hav together at the nice sentosa beach.... our urban skatings etc... i certainly hope tis site can remain... Well guys .. I know every trend has its hype and its final curtains .. and I guess the hype has died out for sunny sat .. I know I know .. we are all busy and we aren't exactly the most happening people in the world .. So I'll be closing our Sunny Sat webbie down for abit .. Keep it low for awhile so that we don't seem that inactive .. I guess a community blog can only work out if there really is a common and strong interest among the people in it .. LAST BUT NOT LEAST TESTIMONY:

This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days
and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will,
in the future, likely think before she speaks.
What happens when you predict snow but don't get any!
We had a female news anchor that,
the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't,
turned to the weatherman and asked:
"So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?"
Not only did HE have to leave the set,
but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard!

Now, didn't that feel good?

this morning, i got unexpectedly hit by a philosophical streak and so decided to set out to discover who i really am and what it really means to be me.

i figured that since the internet is so advanced now, i'd start my self-discovery by searching the internet. but after spending the good part of an hour turning up countless internet search results that linked my name to various transport systems, computer software, cinemas, a TV station in Australia, and even a website endorsed by Chuck Norris: http://www.max.com/site/, i decided that i had to narrow my search. i had to look for something specific.

Anyway.. Today was an alright skating day .. Turned out only Max, Yc and myself made it for skating .. me and max had a weird experience with a lady bus driver, who looked like she was dealing with terrorist when we asked if we could board the bus with our skates on .. she was like .. NO! .. u want to come up cannot wear skates(so she says in chinese).. So i was like "okok .. we take out .. but can we go in and take out?" and she was like "NO! .. u wan u take out now! .. take out now!!!" .. the freaking lady was as if she was a former security guard of IMF or something .. me and max were like stunned and i had to say "okok .. relax .. we take out .. we take out .." -.- talk about rude awakenning .. I was contemplating if I should ask her what's the logic behind taking out the skates at the busdoor and taking it out inside of the bus .. its not like we were gonna hi-jack the bus with our skates on .. -pfft- .. but i figured no point asking .. she probably doesn't even know what's the real reason behind it .. just doing for the sake of doing ..

To drive or not to drive in Brisbane ?

Well the question is to drive or not to drive in Brisbane. Getting a licence here won't cost a bomb like in Singapore. The cars here are also cheap ! for A$1500 you can get a movable 2nd hand vehicle.

Don't worry the people here don't care about how old or bad conditioned your vehicle is.

Well my friend did just that and guess what i get to be chauffeured around daily. =P

Well on a totally different issue, the birds here are totally not bothered by humans. I was walking on the field and a family of ducks walked passed me unafraid that i would try to harm them. The ducklings are really cute, wanted to take one home as a pet.. but i decided against it cause my friend actually got attacked by a bird on the field and my place does have a restriction on pets. The sole bird in the pic is injured and the people at the uni actually placed a barrier around the bird to prevent others from disturbing it. It has been more than 2 weeks, hope it recovers soon.

Man.. Talk about serious activities in a single saturday. Yup, we've did it once again. Another successful fun filled Saturday blessed by all the weather gods. Despite the size of our gang today(not that there is any problem with our 'size' or anything), we manage to grind the streets of Sentosa all the way up to Suntec City in our skates.

From one end of Tanjong beach ...

To the other end at the Vistor Departure Center ...

We all managed to sneak in and we all embraced the bathrooms. I am king .. SHOWER KING .. -lol-

Then after having a hearty meal, we all walked over to Millenia Walk and guess what.. the 'relax-one-corner god' decided to bless us with free OSIM massages..

But good thing Jade wasn't as stuck up as that dude(i think) was .. I personally found her very pleasant looking and a personality to match .. Well .. just my two-cents worth. Was on my way to chinatown to get my weekly meat and I discovered a few interesting facts about trains here in Brisbane.

As a student you got to carry your student ID card or risk being fined $200 on the spot.
There are station masters at the entrance and exits who would check if you ticket is vaild. They look but they don't see. Greeting people as you walk on by seems more like their job.

Its semi automatic on trains. You got to open your own doors but don't worry you don't have to close them.

Student? You got to stand...

Shite I still have one more week of class.
And theres this woman sitting near me scolding vulgarities at her com. Scary.
Not that I'm complaining mind u, the classes are excellent, and trainers superb(most at least).
But I'm exhausted, life's been a roller coaster for the last 2 weeks. Its mad really. But all is great.

But I just thought I'd share a poem by Frank Ferrelly, a provocational therapist(? if theres sucha thing).

hey muns...i think it's abt time we find something crazy to do.

i had thought of a few ideas:
1. robbing a bank on skates and with toy plastic M16s
2. scaling a HDB flat nude before BASE jumping off the top
3. test-driving a Chrysler 300C and pushing the sales assistant out

the 3rd idea had come across as perhaps the most productive of all 3, but then comes the problem of getting rid of the GPS tracker they'd surely place in some well-hidden crevice of the car, and also ensuring the sales assistant don't get bruised up too badly tumbling down the highway at 100km/h.
oh, and of course, it'll b a real hassle trying not to get caught while driving arnd in my new Chrysler 300C, considering the effectiveness of our police force, the uncommon-ness of the car, and the fact that singapore is such a compact country.

haha, alright, but seriously, we shld do something exciting enough to get our minds blown away.
climbing? paintball? diving? nightskating from jurong to pasir ris?

Sooner or later, everyone you know will disappoint you in some way.

They’ll say something or fail to say something that will hurt you. And they’ll do something or fail to do something that will anger you. It’s able.

Unfortunately, you make things worse when you stew over someone’s words and deeds. When you dwell on a rude remark or an insensitive action made by another person, you’re headed for deeper problems.

In fact, the more you dwell on these things, the more bitter you’ll get.

You’ll find your joy, peace and happiness slipping away. And you’ll find your productivity slowing down as you find more and more time thinking about the slight or telling others about it. Eventually, if you don’t stop doing it, you’ll even get sick. So what should you do the next time someone betrays you?

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR FEELINGS. Even though the other person may be at fault, even though the other person wronged you, you are still responsible for your own feelings.

In other words, other people do not “cause” your feelings. You choose them.

For example, two different people could be told that their suggestions made at the staff meeting were stupid and idiotic. One person may “choose” to feel so hurt that he never speaks up at any other meeting again. The other person may “choose” to feel sorry for the critic, sorry that the critic couldn’t see the wisdom and necessity of her suggestions.

As long as you blame other people for your feelings, as long as you believe other people caused your feelings, you’re stuck. You’re a helpless victim.

But if you recognize the fact that you choose your feelings and you are responsible for your feelings, there’s hope. You can take some time to think about your feelings. And you can decide what is the best thing to say or do.

Then, you’ve got to learn to WALK AWAY FROM DISAPPOINTMENT.

It’s difficult to do, but it’s possible. The famous 19th Century Scottish historian, Thomas Carlyle, proved that. After working on his multi-volume set of books on “The French Revolution” for six years, Carlyle completed the manuscript and took volume one to his friend John Stuart Mill. He asked Mill to read it.

Five days later, Mill’s maid accidentally threw the manuscript into the fire. In agony, Mill went to Carlyle’s house to tell him that his work had been destroyed.

Carlyle did not flinch. With a smile, he said, “That’s all right, Mill. These things happen. It is a part of life. I will start over. I can remember most of it, I am sure. Don’t worry. It’s all here in my mind. Go, my friend! Do not feel bad.”

As Mill left, Carlyle watched him from the window. Carlyle turned to his wife and said, “I did not want him to see how crushed I am by this misfortune.” And with a heavy sigh, he added, “Well the manuscript is gone, so I had better start writing again.”

Carlyle finally completed the work, which ranks as one of the great classics of all time. He had learned to walk away from disappointment.

After all, what could Carlyle have done about his burnt manuscript?

Nothing. Nothing would have resurrected the manuscript. All Carlyle could do was to get bitter or get started. And what can you do about anything once it is over? Not much. You can try to correct it if it is possible, or you can walk away from it if it isn’t. Those are your only two choices.

Sometimes you’ve just got to shake it off and step up. It’s like the farmer who had an old mule who fell into a deep dry well. As he assessed the situation, he knew it would be difficult, if not impossible, to lift the heavy mule out of the deep well.

So the farmer decided to bury the mule in the well.

After all, the mule was old and the well was dry, so he could solve two problems at once. He could put the old mule out of his misery and have his well filled.

The farmer asked his neighbours to help him with the shoveling. To work they went. As they threw shovel-full of dirt on the mule’s back, the mule became frightened.

Then all of a sudden, an idea came to the mule. Each time they would throw a shovel-full of dirt on his back; he would shake it off and step up. Shovel-full after shovel-full, the mule would shake it off and step up. In not too long a time, the exhausted and dirty mule stepped over the top of the well and through the crowd.

That’s the same approach we all need to take. We need to shake it off and step up.

Finally you need to FORGIVE. It’s difficult, especially when the other person doesn’t deserve your forgiveness or doesn’t even seek it. It’s difficult when the other person is clearly in the wrong.

Part of the difficulty comes from a common misunderstanding of forgiveness.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean that the other person’s behaviour is okay. And forgiveness doesn’t mean that the other person is off the hook. He’s still responsible for his misbehaviour.

Forgiveness is about letting yourself off the emotional hook. It’s about releasing your negative emotions, attitudes, and behaviours. It’s about letting go of the past so you can go forward to the future.

Everyone in your life, everyone on and off the job is going to disappoint you. If you know how to respond to those situations, you’ll be way ahead of most people. You’ll be able to live above and beyond your circumstances.

Action:

Identify two people that have disappointed, hurt, or angered you. If possible, select two people towards whom you still have some bitterness.

Then ask yourself, “How does my bitterness serve me? Am I happier holding on to it?

Do I sleep better?

Is my life richer, fuller, and better because of my bitterness?”

If you find that your bitterness is hurting you, make a decision.

Actually decide to let it go.

Walk away from the disappointment – which means you no longer dwell on it or talk about it.

The CHOICE is yours!

And before i digress further, i'll like to say CBKs grew up in Singapore serving the army. If SAF taught us anything, it's that quitting is right up there with pissing in the Girl Guide's donation container. We never give up! WAHAHA!

Scuba Diving Lessons

Ladies and Gentlemen. I'm reH from the Ministry of Fun, here once again to invite all of you to join us CBKs in our quest for the deep blue. I'm personally planning to take up my refresher course and would like to welcome all who are interested in taking up scuba diving at a relatively cheap price of $490 for a Basic Open Water course. This package includes not only the trainning, the course materials, but also covers the equipment rental and a trip to Pulau Tioman for your first Leisure dive! How cool is that.

I'm gonna take down the list of people who are interested and arrange for us to dive together. Here are some of the details to the questions which probably slapped the back of your head.

Package for Open Water Course include the below,
. PADI Go Dive Manual. PADI RDP ( Recreational Dive Planner )
. Log Book
. 2 class ( Monday & Wednesday 6.45pm at Mark & Charles Scuba )
. 2 pool lesson ( Tuesday & Thursday 6.45pm at Outram secondary school )
. All rental equipment during pool and outing
. Instructional fee. Certification fee
. All land/sea transport for outing
. Full board at resort
. Accommodation ( Quad sharing with air- con and attach bathroom )

. minimum 4 dives for Open Water StudentPrerequisite
. must be able to swim at 200m and tread water/ stay afloat for 10 mins
. must complete knowledge review in manual
. must complete 4 quizzes
. must complete 50 question exam with at least 75% score
. must complete at least 4 open water dive
. evaluation by instructor Cost is $490. ( usual $530 )

I've yet to set a date for us to make this trip cos I wana have a feel of how many people can make it. I would preferably set it within July to please most people and give them more time to consider. Say if we plan to start the course at maybe 10 July 06. The trip to tioman would probably take up 3 days spread over the weekends. Friday night we leave, Either Sun evening return. Perfect for those do not have to work on weekends! BE TEMPTED and leave your name and questions in the comments of this post. I will try my best you fill you in with whatever info you need.

thx for e inivitation. I finally got it working. Don't know why i ended up in sunny sat but we're all cool people for all i know though. vaha!

neway, whoever who is interested in doing some volunteering work, there's upcoming activity called Youth X'travaganza. Basically its an event that ULU pandan CC are organising in celebration of youth day. It will be held on 9th July from 8.30am to about 6pm at ulu pandan CC.
Activities for the day include a 5-a-side street soccer tournament, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, bazaar, exhibitions by government agencies, and a modern dance competition..though the dance is just tentative..not confirmed yet.

Just to show that we are serious about this, we'll try and update everyone on the progress of our work. Right now, we have completed brainstorming on the different ideas for the layout and we'll be planning to take fotos for the flash page of the site. This dude here used to be a part of the Xmen. He was Wolverine's little brother, Chooturine. As we all know, Wolverine was well known for his special metallic skeletonal body. However, Chooturine was slightly less gifted. Only certain parts of his body was embued with the same metal found in Wolverine's body. He did not realise this until one day, while he was trying to save his brother from the clutches of Magneto, He stroked Magneto's ... ermz ... (Explict content) with his hands to distract him. Although he saved his brother, his heroic act costed him dearly.

Now, because of the stroking, the metals in his body have been magnetized and he has part of Magneto's powers!!!!! However, it had its side effects;

The other part of his body which was magnetized was his ass. This is not the first time I've seen this happen to him. Whenever he is caught by surprize or is stressed, the magnetism would overwhelm him and his hands would be stuck to his ass.

People have been asking me who's Jim, so i've decided to come clean.

Jim is special to me.

In fact, just today, we've just had a rendezvous. And although i didn't spend much time in Jim just now, it was definitely still a satisfying session. That short half hour left me exhausted and totally shagged out. Even as i made my way to the bathroom to wash myself up, i was already thinking of how my next session would be like.

Although my parents have gave me sound advise time and again, i have never regretted my decision before.

For me, each experience is always more satisfying than the last, and i'm always left wanting more.

So, i'll encourage anyone who wants to try something different, to go ahead and take the 1st step, because you never know what you'll get.

What's important is that one must always remember to do it the safe way.

it all started with Generation-X, where Nicholas Tse made centre-parted long hair and schoolboy fistfights look cool.

then we moved into Generation-Y, which categorised people like me and whom i rmb the govt quoted to be the new breed of 'thinking' people, who will drive the nation into a new era with our burning curiosity and fearless demand for a constant betterment of our society at large.

then came the Millenium age, which saw the boom of dragon babies and fresh new ideals being introduced. coincidentally, it was also the age when Wang lee hom aptly sang 'long de chuan ren'

then the world finally recognised the importance of me.
Triumph dedicated a range of lingerie to my name - the Maximisers.
Starhub named their broadband internet service after me - MaxOnline.
i was popular for awhile.

then came the age of the rockstars, better known as the I-generation, thanks to Apple's clever marketing brain, who had ingeniously singled out the one important identifying characteristic of that age - the need of people to feel unique and important.
and because of Apple's success in it's i-pdt branding, it also became jaded when too many companies tried to imitate them by coming up with names that are too corny to even mention.
the good thing is, Apple never lost its place as the creator of the i-generation.

then OSIM decided to take on a new approach, after tapping on Apple's i-pdt branding success with their own i-symphony and i-gallop etc., they launched their first U-Zap.
like wow.
what next?
we-grind?

but recently, Singapore Post finally broke the copycat trend and took on a new angle in creative pdt branding - characterisation.
they named their new loan scheme: James.
i groaned.
why not Max?
but nevertheless, applause must be given to their innovative idea and interesting ads.

from the look of things, pdt branding is spiralling uncontrollably towards personalisation.

so, i propose that we give our band a name that is creative with a healthy dose of individuality: 8-inches.
